The Thessaloniki Metro stations and trains are fully accessible to people with disabilities, including those with mobility, hearing, and visual impairments.
All areas are equipped with security cameras and an extensive intercom system connected to the Operation Control Center and THEMA personnel, for immediate information and emergency response.
THEMA personnel will be available throughout the daily operation to assist passengers, accompanying them if necessary or providing information on alternative travel solutions.

Escalators and Elevators.
In the Thessaloniki Metro, all stations are equipped with escalators and elevators, serving from the street-level entrance to the train platform level. Technicians at the Operations Control Center will continuously monitor the escalators and elevators via closed-circuit cameras to ensure passenger safety, while station personnel will regularly inspect the areas to ensure the smooth operation of the systems.

All stations are equipped with special signs indicating the location of escalators and elevators.
Entrance Gate.
For better service for wheelchair users, there is a special entrance gate located next to the ticket validation machines.

Wheelchair Accessibility.
The trains and platforms are aligned at the same level to allow easy access for wheelchairs. Boarding and alighting for wheelchair users is prioritized, with designated areas in the first and last cars of each train, which are marked accordingly for fastening and safe transportation.
Tactile paving.
All stations have tactile paving with different textures and colors from the main floor to guide and ensure the safe movement of blind or visually impaired people.
Elevators.
Elevator operation panels include raised Braille characters and voice Elevator notification alerts for door closure and arrival at the floor level.
Audio Notification of Ticket Validation.
Ticket validation machines emit audio messages indicating valid or invalid ticket validation.

Platform Screen Doors.
All stations on the platforms are equipped with Platform Screen Doors that isolate the tunnels along the entire length of the platform and prevent access to the tracks and the area where the trains move, providing the highest levels of safety for passengers. The tactile paving in the stations lead to the Platform Screen Doors.
Sound Announcement System.
All stations have an audio announcement system for train arrivals and safety reminders.
Platform and Train Level.
The platform and train floors are perfectly aligned, making boarding and disembarking completely safe for passengers.
Warning Sounds.
When the train arrives, a warning sound indicates the opening of the automatic safety doors. When the train is departing and the door is about to close, a warning sound indicates the closing of the automatic safety doors, followed by another one confirming their closure.
Visual Notification of Ticket Validation.
Ticket validation machines display messages on electronic screens indicating successful ticket validation.
Announcement Screens.
In all stations, at the platform level, announcement screens are installed to display the arrival time of the next train and its destination.
Elevators.
The elevators include visual indicators for the opening and closing of doors and for floor arrival.

Each train is equipped with electronic screens displaying information about the next station.
Visual warning signal.
When the train arrives, a visual warning signal indicates the opening of the automatic safety doors. When the train is departing and the door is about to close, a visual warning signal indicates the closing of the automatic safety doors, followed by another one signalling their closing.
